Mental Massage
Together we can do a guided meditation:
* Think of a situation that continues to come to mind as a puzzle ("I feel stuck").
* Then think of what you want to do about this situation.
* Put that thought into the form of a clear, concise and positive question; e.g., "How can I have a relationship with my
family and keep my marriage intact?". Work on the question until it is as clear and concise as it can be.
* Let the emotion the question creates come to the surface from wherever you feel it in your body and put it on a shelf
for a moment.
* Then, relax each part of your body, part by part, while breathing deeply and slowly so you are present and
grounded.
* Picture the most beautiful place you can imagine or have been to. Use your imagination to see the sights,
hear the sounds, and smell the fragrances. You are now physically and mentally relaxed and can access your
intuition more easily.
* After you are relaxed and in your beautiful place, invite (if you wish to) the question and corresponding emotion into
the space in front of you.
* See what the emotion has to offer you in the way of appearance (shape, size, proximity), dialogue (what is it saying
to you and what your response is), or anything else that comes to mind. Notice the control you have over the
emotion. Play with this emotion for as long as you wish.
* Gently bring yourself back to the place you actually are and journal anything that came to you about the situation,
question, emotion, and meditation.
* Notice if you have a clearer view of the situation or an answer(s) to your question.
